The Cottonwood Tree

Cottonwood Tree

Unpolished Draft

I am the seed of a cottonwood tree. After maturing from the fruit of the branches where I once hung, I get picked up by a passing breeze. This life of mine sends me swirling and twirling in the sky, carrying a gift very, very far. On the day I find ground, wherever G-d grants it, I’ll make new roots and emerge from the Earth to become a mighty cottonwood tree — to grow flowers, to mature fruit, and, when the time is right, to release new seeds so that they too may contribute to this wonderful world, no matter where they go, or how far they travel.
